Built for Erik at Care General Construction: a portal that keeps site updates, communication and approvals organized so contractors and homeowners stay aligned from kickoff to handover.
The problem
A construction company coordinating multiple job sites had no shared system between the field and the client. Site progress, photos, approvals and updates all lived in separate text threads and phone calls, which made it easy for a homeowner to feel out of the loop and easy for a detail to get lost between the crew and the office.
What I built
- A secure portal with two distinct experiences: contractors log site progress and photos, homeowners track milestones and review documents, both from the same shared record.
- Direct messaging between homeowner and contractor inside the portal, so status questions don't need a separate phone call.
- A FastAPI backend with a dedicated scheduler service for recurring tasks, plus role-based access so each side only sees what's relevant to them.
- A React frontend with its own design system, built around this team's actual day to day workflow rather than a generic admin template.
Why it matters
Every project now has one record both sides trust: what was done, what's next, and who to ask. Nothing depends on remembering a phone call from three days ago.
